I am currently a PhD student at UC Berkeley and staff scientist/engineer at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. My interests are in numerical methods and optimization in computational mechanics.
My current research is focused on non-Newtonian flow and dynamic optimization for 3D printing applications. My research group can found at Computational Manufacturing and Materials Laboratory.
Outside of my everyday research I train as an endurance athlete.
I am in the process of transferring all contents to my other website bmhowell.github.io.
